Aaron Schimmel was born & raised in Fresno, California until the age of 13. As a child, he was always creative liked drawing and coloring. He always liked creating science fiction and fantasy themes, as well as taking ideas from comic books & games.
At the start of college at CSU, Fresno, Aaron enrolled in computer science with the intention of studying programming. He later changed to & graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Technology, studying computer networking under the Cisco Certified Network Associate program (which he was later certified with). After graduation from CSU, Fresno, he decided to continue his education and study computer graphics, planning to work in 3D eventually. Thus, he enrolled at Institute of Technology (IOT) in Clovis, CA in their Web & Graphic Design curriculum, which teaches how to create virtually anything for print & the internet, such as websites, brochures, & ads.
While IOT did not cover 3D, he felt learning web & print designing would be an excellent starting point. He would also have the opportunity to continue learning some programs that he started on his own, such as Adobe Photoshop & Flash.
He ended up loving it. Aaron found out that he enjoyed working with images and also turned out to be good at it, earning the compliments &admiration of his instructors. He earned compliments such as “paying a lot of attention to detail.” The skills that he gained have become invaluable and much of the works done at IOT are in his portfolio. Aaron plans to follow a career in graphic design, possibly freelancing at some point. He also plans to continue learning 3D art, either through further schooling or on his own. For now, though, he just wants to earn valuable industry experience and continue to do what he loves doing – art!
